The course of the Backyard Ultra THE LAST LAP in Goldach offers a varied and challenging route that runs along the picturesque Goldach stream, which marks the border between the cantons of St. Gallen and Thurgau. The loop covers 6.706 kilometers with a total elevation gain of around 140 meters, spread across gentle but noticeable ascents and descents.
The route stretches from the border of Untereggen/Mörschwil down to Lake Constance, featuring highlights such as the 85-meter suspension bridge in the Rantelwald forest. Along the way, historical landmarks like the Bruggmühle (dating back to 1670) and the impressive Goldach Viaduct of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) offer fascinating glimpses into local history.
The loop is marked and consists of 30% paved and 70% unpaved, low-traffic paths and roads. No road closures are planned. At the start and finish area, enjoy special food offerings to refuel and celebrate your run.
