Measuring exactly 6.706 kilometers with approximately 67 meters of elevation gain, the route balances flat stretches with gentle climbs, ideal for steady pacing across multiple laps.
The loop begins and ends at the school grounds in Hallwil and winds its way through open fields, quiet forest paths, and along the banks of the Aabach stream. One of the highlights is the passage near the historic Hallwyl Castle, offering runners a brief glimpse into Switzerland’s medieval past amid their effort.
Runners can expect a surface mix of roughly 75% natural trails—mainly gravel, field, and forest paths—and 25% paved sections on low-traffic roads. The route is clearly marked and follows a continuous loop format without any road closures, ensuring a safe and flow-friendly experience.
The event village at the start and finish area provides shelter for runners and their gear, live timing, and well-organized aid stations offering drinks, fruits, and savory snacks each hour. At designated times, hot meals are also served to support long-haul runners.
