Published by Jacinta Homann

TENTATIVE race date 27 June 2026, it will definitely be in June or July but date will need to be confirmed.
The Red Dirt Backyard Ultra (RDBU) is a standout event held in the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia. It offers a unique running experience on a 6.71km course of gravel, hard sand, and red dirt, distinguished by its vibrant wildflowers and the opportunity to see kangaroos alongside runners at sunset. This challenging format, combined with heat and variable weather, provides an endurance test unmatched elsewhere in Australia.
