The fifth edition of the TCW Backyard Ultra will take place in 2026. This year, the event will not be held on the last weekend of the Hessian school holidays as usual, but a week earlier. The TCW also celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
It is a private, non-commercial event and is aimed primarily at local runners and rookies who want to experience the format, and people for whom the 100 miles is the ultimate challenge. For this reason, it is very likely that the race will be finished within a day. Runners who want to be out for several days would be better served by taking part in one of the other major races.
